kayak float trips

Our kayak float trips were the foundation upon which The Iron Freedom Foundation started. Our mission for these trips is simple, to outfit, teach, and bring combat veterans on kayak floats to provide them with the means and tools to aid in the recovery of emotional struggles through the outdoors.

backcountry fly fishing

Our fly fishing programs are very different from our kayak float programs in the way of logistics, the environment, and the overall structure of our kayak floats. With our fly fishing programs, we are looking to have the combat veterans that attend these trips really connect to the outdoors on a deeper level, to find a hobby and passion that will forever be embedded in their soul. These programs require more time spent on teaching of the sport of fly fishing, conservation, and exploration. We feel these trip’s are best suited for those veterans who are seeking something more and have yet to find it.

Couples fly fishing excursions

Our newest program that we just started is our couples fly fishing program. Like our fly fishing trip, the veterans will head off into the mountains for a weeks worth of fly fishing, hiking, and camping. However, this program allows for the spouses of the veteran to attend. These trips have the potential to be our most powerful trips, the bonding of brotherhood can be stronger than we experience on most trips, the spouses on the trip get to experience and see their veteran under an entirely different mental attitude.
