Our Mission

The Iron Freedom Foundation's overall mission is to provide veterans with a support community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts with the means and the personal confidence necessary to go forth and achieve, not only their goals, but those around them.

The Iron Freedom Foundation designs and develops programs that facilitate meaningful team experiences while enabling each veteran with individual purpose. Activities such as kayaking, fishing, hunting, etc. not only immerse our veterans in nature, but also create constructive challenges, teamwork, problem-solving, and community.

Like many other non-profit organizations, our veterans are supplied with the necessary provisions to complete our programs. But this is where we separate ourselves. Upon completion, all provisions provided remain with the veteran. This grants them full autonomy to recreate the excursion apart from the organization.

“You can not teach a man how to fish and feed him for a lifetime, without giving him the proper tools to do so.”

“There’s power out here, healing. I’ve got to tell other veterans about it, but more than that I’ve got to show them it, more than that I’ve got to give them the tools so they can do it. That’s why I think it’s so important to get these guys out here, to get them in the mountains, on the coast, on a lake, or on a river. That’s the most important thing. When you come out here and see this, you don’t think of anything else.”
